It's been an annual tradition to take my kids to at least one Maple Syrup Festival every year in March. It's a great way to spend the day with the kids outdoors learning, having fun and creating memories! You can also sample many maple treats too!
Last year we were at a few over March Break. We spent some time at Mountsberg and Crawford Lake Conservation areas. Mountsberg has a whole village set up and demonstrations and at Crawford they show you how the natives make cornbread and then there is samples.
They even have wagon rides you can go on for an extra fee at Mountsberg with their lovely horses.
For more info on this years events check out http://www.conservationhalton.ca/parks
There are other Maple Syrup festivals in the GTA areas you can visit
In the Oakville/Burlington area there is Bronte Creek Maple Syrup Festival
A little north west we have Terra Cotta Conservation
In North York Black Creek Pioneer Village has kids free during March Break!
To the east we have Bruce Mills and Kortright Conservation Areas
All the above festivals require admissions to the parks.
If your looking for a indoor attraction Cineplex is hosting 4 movies a day for $2.99 and if you are an Airmiles collector you can go free! Scroll down and look for the March Break option. You have to get tickets online with promo code and is only available at select theaters.
For a bunch more ideas visit Toronto 4 Kids they have a calendar of events for all the extended GTA and a great resource for things to do during March Break.
